How to Do Ombré Frosting for Cupcakes
We were having a few friends over to hangout in the backyard, so I figured that I would whip up a box of cupcakes for us to snack on. I couldn’t decide between vanilla and chocolate frosting, so I decided to do half and half. However, I was much too lazy to change the piping bag after I did a batch of vanilla frosted cupcakes, and after I added the chocolate frosting, I got this beautiful ombré design. What a happy and sweet accident.
I think this would look so lovely with a variety of pastel colored frostings.
I just used a wide tip for the piping bag, squeezed the frosting into the center of the cupcake, and stopped when I thought it was close enough to the edge. Don’t move the bag, don’t do a swirl. Just squeeze and stay right in the center of the cupcake.
