Mighty Quinn’s BBQ
After a night of great conversations and great drinks at The Standard in the East Village, I needed food. The problem with fun company is that you keep drinking not realizing how much time has gone by. However, when I am with bad company I also tend to keep drinking to blur them out. Anywho, the moral of this story is that when you have one, two, three Templeton perfect Manhattans and you are under 5 feet tall, you will want food. We ended up at Mighty Quinn’s around the corner, where the staff was so nice, especially when it was so late and they were probably hoping to not have to deal with more customers.
Picture is a bit blurred, because you know I don’t like using a flash when there are other diners around. But in this pic you have a Brontosaurus rib, pulled pork, brisket and sausage. Sides were burnt end baked beans, sweet potato casserole with maple and pecans and creamy coleslaw.
Except for the sausage, the meats were a bit dry, but to be frank, we went really late, so that was understandable. If we went during the day, you could tell that it would’ve been pretty good BBQ. Probably one of the better BBQ places in NYC actually. And usually I’m indifferent to sausage, but I really liked theirs and ate the leftovers for lunch the next day. The sides were absolutely delicious. I am crazy obsessed with the sweet potato casserole. I probably talked about it for like 30 minutes straight after I ate it.
Will I head back? Def. Super sweet staff, meat and it looks like according to their website they have pomme frites coming soon.
