Mantao is a Great Memory of Home

Mantao is a staple in the Chinese community and something that I grew up eating all the time. It’s a steamed bun, that is soft and slightly sweet. Growing up my grandmother would slice them in half, fry them in oil and give them a gentle sprinkle of salt. Between the sweet and salty, and the crunchy and chewy, you get the best of a lot of worlds. Head down to Chinatown and snag a bag at any of the bakeries.
