Lucy’s Vietnamese Kitchen In Bushwick
I’m like the female Joey Tribianni. I love food. I love sandwiches. If I’m crying, if you shove food in my mouth, I will probably stop crying and ask for more food. Today I have a really good sandwich to tell you about.
Bushwick, Brooklyn has a ton of new places popping up now. One of which is Lucy’s Vietnamese Kitchen. My mom loves the Pho Banh Mi there, as does my uncle, husband, and me.
The Pho Banh Mi is a 14-hour smoked brisket banh mi sandwich. F*ck yeah. The brisket has been sautéed in a pho broth, and then layered with hoison sauce, sriracha, and Thai basil. When I had it for the first time, I was trying to get my weight down and was like, “I’m only going to have a few bites.” Ended up eating the entire damn thing and it was totally worth it. It somehow got better with each bite. Plus, in New York, you don’t find smoked brisket around a lot, unless you head to a restaurant that specializes in BBQ. I do want to try the other items, but I feel like I’ll have to get the Pho Banh Mi as back up because I like it so much.
