Las Pantera Negras NYC
I’m a big fan of Las Panteras Negras in Spanish Harlem. Think of it as a your favorite diner, but a Mexican version of it. The food is delicious, especially for the price. You’re definitely getting your money’s worth, and to be honest, probably some leftovers to take home with you as well. They serve breakfast until 1 P.M., think eggs and salsa, pancakes and chilaquiles. The rest of the menu features everything from Mexican and American style tacos, to whole fried fishes. I was going to go this past weekend, but they don’t have a full bar (only beer and non-alcoholic options) and my husband wanted a cocktail, so we went somewhere else instead.
Loved it. Very simple and very satisfying.
Milanesa de Res
Beef with bread crumbs with a side of rice and beans. The beef was nice and thin, and the rice and beans cooked just right.
Carne Enchilada Torta
A Mexican sandwich of marinated pork in guajilllo chile sauce. OMG, this was fantastic. Just half will keep you full, but you will probably want to keep eating it because it tastes that good.
