Chinese Grass Jelly
Ever see this canned black jelly, also known as grass jelly, in Asian supermarkets? It’s super good! My mother use to buy a bottled version of this for me to drink when we would go food shopping in Chinatown. It has a medicinal and herbal taste to it, but not one that turns me off. I am assuming because it is something that I grew up eating.
We would take one of these cans, open it, cut it up with a knife while still in a can, add it to a container with sugar and then chill it. It makes for a great digestive dessert after a meal.
