A Two-Step Cooking Process That You Will Fall In Love With

This is a two-step cooking process that you will want to apply to anything and everything, from vegetables and various meats. I particularly love doing this with brussel sprouts and red cabbage.

If you are using brussel sprouts, trim the stems and cut them in half, top down to the stem. When using red cabbage, all you want to do is cut them into strips or chunks. For both vegetables, just follow the below steps and trust me, you end up getting something incredibly tasty.

Ingredients (the below would work for a pint of brussel sprouts or half a red cabbage)

1 tbs butter

1/2 cup chicken stock

Salt to taste

Now What?

Saute your vegetable in the butter till it starts to slightly brown. Then pour in the stock, cover and simmer till the liquid is gone. Sprinkle with salt to taste and serve. And that’s it! You really will be surprised by how flavorful everything will turn out. One other idea that would be cool? Mixing the vegetables with crumbled bacon, or instead of butter, how about sautéing it in some bacon fat? Um, hello…yum!
